Yo!
I’m back with my almost favourite weekly post, the happy news. I know this week was probably happy for the majority of humans beings, because the sweet sweet discounted candy and chocolate day is here, but there is a lot more to celebrate than Valentine’s day. And I’m not saying I’m against it, because love is beautiful but we can also love each other on every ordinary day. Anyways, if you’re a store/flower shop owner, good for you! Now let’s begin with the feel good inspiring happy news of this week.
Let me warn you in advance, there will be so many clapping in this post, prepare to be annoyed! Also, I literally have no idea why Snow White is so happy, I can’t even decide whether that’s a sarcastic slow clapping or she is high on something, or she has never seen normal people clap. Please help me out with it because believe me the longer you stare at it the creepier it gets. So stop it now and read on!
#1 Ellen helps out a school in need
Oookay I will not even get started why Ellen is the absolute best, let’s just agree she RULEZZZZ!!! She is seriously one outstanding character in show biz and I find it so inspiring how after everything has happened to her she still has faith in people and want to change the world to make it a better place for everyone. She’s a great comedian and just a wonderful, kind hearted human being!
She could be in the happy every single week, because she supports all the good causes, helps people in need and raises awareness for important issues.
This time she surprised Spain Elementary Middle School (Detroit) by teaming up with Lowe’s to donate half million dollars ($500k!!) to the school. WOW!!! The district got lots of attention for the horrible conditions in some classroom, and the wonderful job their dedicated teachers are doing every day for their students.
Also, Justin Bieber showed up and promised to donate 1 dollar after each ticket sold for one of his shows. As a person coming from a family full with teachers, I find it extremely important to provide everyone with the opportunity to receive proper education, and appreciate the hard work of teachers with giving them all the support they require to execute their daily operation.
You can watch the moving clip of this massive surprise here:
Also, read Ellen’s books, they are hilarious and inspiring (I’m planning to do a review/opinion post on celebrity books – stay tuned)
10 points to the Ellen show! Ellen for president!
#2 UAE names Minister of Happiness
The world’s 7th richest country has seen enough dollar signs to know that money does not buy happiness (really??) so the prime minister of the United Arab Emirates appointed a minister of happiness. Ohood Al Roumi has been appointed to cheer his people up. She is currently director general of the prime minister’s office, and will keep doing that job while doubling as minister of state for happiness.
Al Roumi will align and drive government policy to create social good and satisfaction. Sheikh Mohammed said: “happiness in the UAE is not just a hope, there will be plans, projects, programmes and indicators.”
He also created a minister of tolerance and wants to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world within 5 years. (The Times reported UAE ranked nr 20 on the 2015 World Happiness Report)
Great initiative UAE, I wish you all the happiness in the world, and let’s hope other countries start sharing this view.
#3 Target to offer carts for kids with special needs
Todays.com reported that shopping carts with an extra large, forward facing seat that’s specially designed for kids and adults with special needs is going to be available nationwide.
Starting in March, Target will offer these sweet seats in most of its stores so more kiddos can roll down its aisles in style. The arrival of this innovation at a national level will help parents and kids with a variety of disabilities feel like they’re finally in the driver’s seat.
Amazing move Target!
#4 Teen boy does sweet thing for 834 girls at school
The compassionate Hayden Godfrey made a facebook post on Thursday announcing that this year for Valentine’s Day, he was going to make every girl at his Utah school feel special.
Even though Hayden is happy in a committed relationship, he spent $450 of his own money earned doing seasonal jobs to buy 834 carnations for his carefully planned act of kindness.
Love is in the air at Sky View High School!!
Speaking of Valentine’s day, here’s a message I’d like to send to everyone in the whole universe being sad about it:
OMG how sweet I am!! You’re welcome!!!!
Also, if you’re sad about being alone on Valentine’s Day, just remember… nobody loves you on the other days of the year either. (BAM right in your face!!)

I love that you’ve dedicated a post to the good things going on in the world! News channels seem to focus on all of the violent, negative things going on and it starts to break down the way I view people. This is awesome, keep it up!
